Flu bug

I have caught the flu bug! Started off with sore throat, followed by flu and cough. Yesterday, I was shivering in the office due to the cold air-con. I went to see doc yesterday evening and given medication. Took them after dinner and went bed early.

Anyway, I feel a little brightened up knowing that I'm sic
k two weeks earlier before my trip. At least I can have an ease of mind that I won't get sick again so soon! Despite my illness, I have to make a trip down to the tour agency to make balance payment and to check with them regards to the tour. Today is the deadline to make payment.

As one of my agenda is to catch up with my cousin wh
o has been permanently staying at Osaka, we'll be meeting on the first night and she volunteers to bring us around to Shinsanbashi. Thus, I need to get the firm schedule from the tour agency. I'm looking forward to see her as she used to dote on sister and I, always buying us pretty stuffs when she travelled around. I kinda miss her too and I'm bringing some of her foodie stuffs to her as a token of love and appreciation.

Coming up next! Here's the rest of photos from Tyan's camera.

The waterfall we ordered for the bride-to-be was so tall! It was a nice sight watching the fire spreading from the top to the bottom of the glass! Unfortunately, all the cameras could not capture this.

Eve used her hands to signal us that she was still okay. She is considered a good drinker since not everyone can take waterfall, especially me!

My face started to get more red towards the end of the party. Anyone can guess here I'm not a good drinker after all! >.<

Going to get more rest now for later!

CH's wedding

I attended my colleague's wedding dinner last night and I have to admit the bride looked so stunning in her wedding gown. A plain Jane has turned into a beautiful bride! I almost couldn't recognise her from the wedding photos she took. Lovely!

Here's some of the processed photos which I have woke up early to do this morning.
Just fyi, it was my sister who helped to set my hair. It was a really well-done job and it took almost an hour! Thanks sweetie sis!

Very stunning bride

Last but not least, a group photo of our table 21.

bachelorette party

We held a bachelorette party for Eve yesterday as she is about to get marry next weekend. I have been longing to visit Helipad so when the gals mentioned about going there, I was so excited about it!

The following day, Tyan and I went in search for some props to 'sabotage' the bride-to-be...

Well, Helipad was kinda disappointing, everything was really so different from the website and music sux! The only good thing was, everyone was so eager to sabotage the bride-to-be and that's what made it a memorable night! We ordered white wine, beers and waterfall for her and we were screaming with admiration while the poor bride-to-be finished the waterfall in one shot.

My camera's battery faile
d me when I was in the middle of having fun taking shots, so what I got here are the partial shots from yesterday night. I will get the rest from the gals and post them up in another post.

A group picture of the gals. Missing in the picture was Angel as she came in much later.

First, we put on the crown for the Princess. She loved the beautiful crown we had chosen for her with red as her favourite colour. But she absolutely had no idea what we were planning to do next!

Next prop was the
purple masquerade mask! She was pretty obliging and did what we requested.

And finally, the blue feather shawl! She was a little unwillingly initially but followed suit with our request and posed for the cameras!

We forced her walked around the compound with the crown and feather shawl only so we were actually very lenient with her.

Here's the rest of the photos for the night before my camera signalled me low battery!

I specially liked this photo for the night where we posed like we were bat women protecting the princess!

Off I'm going for another colleague's wedding dinner later! I need to get ready soon!

Relaxation mode

I would recommend this place if you are looking for cosy and quiet time to spend alone or with one or two friends. There's even (Japanese) magazines to browse and free wi-fi network! What other free stuffs could you ask than spending a lazy afternoon here enjoying your afternoon tea?

The puny cafe is rather small and weekends are mostly occupied unless you are lucky enough. But you could give this a try during the weekdays though!

All kinds of books and magazines.

It's my second visit here and I do enjoy the quiet ambience it brings to me. The decoration is just like a living room, with a large LCD TV screen and nice lightings and shelves of books and magazines.

The homely feel

I love taking snapshots of BF, when he is focusing on something. He's got the serious look while on normal times, he's pretty cranky. We ordered the apple crumble pie (yummy) and iced chocolate that tasted like milo though.

Met our fellow church friends at Minds cafe located at Boat Quay for 2 hours game. It's fun to be with a large group of "young people at heart" and we actually played quite a number of games. The loser had to perform there. Luckily, BF and I were not the final losers. hehe.

That's all folks! More updates coming your way.

Let me have...

... the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, the strength to do the necessary, the love to give to the deserving, the wisdom to perceive such differences.

*****

Was browsing through for some ''hidden'' places where BF and I could escape from the bustle life during the weekends. Found a few to try but I will be pretty packed the next few weekends to go as I have two wedding dinners coming up and a BBQ at ECP with BF's former classmates!

BKK Shopping trip

Just last week, my colleagues and I were discussing about planning a BKK short trip in January next year. We are a bunch of girls who love shopping and Bangkok has really cheap and fashionable buys as compared to Singapore!

However, I started to review my expenditure recently and worried it may hit my limit for these few months. Im having second thoughts about this as I'm not sure how much I will be spending over at Japan! I will see about the flights and hotels' cost before I decide whether to put on hold for this shopping trip.

It's gonna be a month before my Japan flight! Mixed feelings...
We went down to look for Hong Tai's staff and they told me they will only notify me two weeks before the actual flight. I find it too hasty notice as we still have to book our hotel for the F&E three days. BF and I decided to shortlist a few more hotels just in case.

Things to bring checklist:
  • Jacket - Ok
  • Leather jacket - Ok
  • Thermal wear - Ok
  • Shawl - Ok
  • Boots - Ok
  • Leggings - Ok
  • dress - have not find something suitable
  • Long sleeve inner wear - Ok (need to get another piece)
  • Skirts - Ok
  • Jeans - Ok
  • mittens - Ok
  • Beanie - Ok
  • Cap - Ok

Little Part 1 cafe

Happened to know about this cafe from 8 Days magazine. I have a special liking for concept cafes because I used to day-dream of owning one.

Decided to pop by for some bites and drinks. The caf
e is easily accessible with one min walk from Thomson plaza. Reservation is advisable as seats are limited. From the little vintage pieces decorated and displayed in the cluttered style, we hazard a guess that the boss must be pretty young and loves travelling around the world.

The food were so-so and it's a tad disappointing. The salmon crepe was tasteless and wasn't fantastic. I would only recommend this place if you are there for the ambience and hanging out with friends.
