Wedding bells are ringing~

It was so great to meet up with EC and hearing the good news of her tying the knot with her BF! We had lunch at Northpoint. As usual I was on time while she was late again despite meeting at her house nearby.. haha.

Just a thought that comes to my mind:
Some couples are consider lucky (not sure if lucky is the correct word), had their 1st relationship and then right into marriage. For some, they had to go through a few failed relationships before finding the "One". However, note that this will make them more wiser and in each relationship, you're definitely a step nearer to what you want. Every relationship is unique in its own way. There is no right and wrong. It is just a matter of time before you get it. For those who have been unlucky in love, I am sure soon you will find that "One". Pls do not give up....

We had our girlie chats over latest news of our lives and she revealed to me how her bf had proposed to her. It was at New york snowing last dec and he had hand-written on the snow "will u marry me?", kneeled down with a diamond ring. And of course, she said yes. That was so romantic. How sweet to propose in the snow... We discussed about our dream wedding plans and I gave her some ideas so she may consider. I am sure it will be a perfect wedding for her and her bf~

I will be her jie mei on the actual wedding and also will be taking half day for her appointment with the bridal studio on her trying of gowns on 31st March. She will be having her photoshoot in May! So excited for her! I am looking forward to that.

After few hours of non-stop chats, BF came to pick me up. It was pouring so heavily at Yishun suddenly. We then parked our car at Far East plaza. We had our shopping done at Far East, Taka, Paragon mainly searching around for a pressie for one of my colleague's birthday. Finally decided to get her a perfume. So I rang up Tyan for her advice, coincidentally, she was also at Paragon. We met at the perfume corner and both of us decided on Burberry Weekend for her. Btw I got myself a gorgeous pair of heels and a semi-long coat, can't wait to wear the coat for my next trip. hehe.

After shopping and dinner done, met up with Carol, des and rain and we drove down to Selegie Road for Rocher beancurd....

Quick Update

Just a quick update before I turn in to bed....

Recently have been "hooked" on the net so much, especially when I get home, I will switch on my PC sitting on my comfortable chair for hours! I am into FACEBOOK! In the past, I really dislike Facebook, puzzling how to use the functions and applications.. But as time passed, I started to "upgrade" from Friendster to Facebook. Now, my Friendster has been neglected but I will still try to log in to update some stuffs once in a while.

I am happy to be able to keep in touch with old frens through Facebook, managed to find a few friends that I have lost contact with. Judging by the photos, some are married, some have kids, some have changed since the day we left school.. Anyway Facebook does wonders. Thanks to the ones who created it.

Hoping to search for more old friends.... Ok, nite!

Its a sunny day!

Every Sunday morning, BF will pick me up from home and then to church without fail. This morning, I woke up feeling very cheerful, didn't felt tired at all. The past few days, I have been seeing dark clouds or storms so when we were at the expressway, I looked up the sky and saw nice blue sky with white clouds, I felt really delighted and couldn't stop smiling to myself. It's partly cuz I usually don't get a chance to see a fine morning weather. Praise the Lord for the good weather today! It did not rain!

When we reached, we went to carry the laptop and projector from church office and started to set up the stuffs. So expert liao. Everyone was saying how early we were. lol. As usual, the session ended closed to 1pm and we had our lunch at the canteen. I don't know why today I was talkative than usual. I started to chat with the church members and laughing away. haha. Somehow, my mood was so good today!

Since it was such a fine weather, we decided to give Xiao Hei a bath. We drove to Grandma's house at Serangoon for a car wash! The weather was so hot and we were perspiring throughout. It was a good exercise scrubbing and wipping Xiao Hei sparkling clean! We even vacuumed the carpets. The whole process took us 1hour! Now Xiao Hei is back to his shiny black again. I found some scratches on Xiao Hei at the back... Have to think of some ways to make it less visible.

Updates on Saturday.....

BF's pc is spoilt so we went to Funan Center to fix it. But I need to buy some acne gel from NKS salon so I took train down from city hall to Somerset while BF waited for his PC to be repaired. Luckily the rain has stopped. I am so happy that I managed to get the acne gel from orchard as the Tampiness clinic is too far for me. I bought additional bottles to top up S$100 to get their membship card. After that, walked all the way down to Wisma to buy the black skirt I have been thinking about before my BKK trip but it's out of stock! So sad... Then took train back to city hall to meet BF and we decided to head to Sembawang Yacht Club for dinner.

I have been there once in the afternoon but I still prefer the night scenery. I like to witness how the sky turned from blue to black... The wind was blowing and it was cooling to sit outdoors. The western food we ordered were so-so. I don't really like the teriyaki chicken I ordered. I like the night scenery especially glazing at the yachts floating away... hehe.. When will I ever get a chance to sit on it?

Some pics uploaded for your pleasure viewing..

And lastly, an artistic shot of BF while waiting for our food...

Marley & me

I want to catch Marley & me! I heard it's a good movie but the book is definitely better with more story contents. I am planning to get a copy of the book soon. Just want to promise myself I can finish a book. Some other movies to catch like: He's just not that into you. Hmmm, since there are so many nice movies to watch these days, BF decided to purchase 10 GV movie passes at S$75. hehe. Hurray!

I couldn't sleep last nite thinking about my BKK trip and many more. I suddenly have some ideas for my wedding preps for the near future and also how to sabotage my BF.. hehe. Wish I can jot this down somewhere before I forget them.. Maybe just sketch them out when I am free bah. keke. So many people getting married this year: Rain, Eileen and some of my colls..

Shall try to turn in early.... zzZZzz

4 days 3 nites of Eating, Shopping & Slacking at BKK

Do pardon my long post. I took almost half a day to finish writing.. =)

25th - 28th Feb 09
I'm back from my BKK trip! The place was pretty SAFE than what I had imagined. Nothing extravagant happened at all! The people as usual, were nice and polite, they spoke with gentle Thai accent. No wonder Thailand is known as "the Land of Smiles".

During the trip, BF & I took small naps so we don't tire ourselves so much. We decided on a relaxing trip with no hassles. There were enough time for doing the things we wanted.

The day before going to BKK, we had watched The curious case of Benjamin Button. Alot of emotional scenes drawn to my heart. Between life and death, every aspect of life changes in time. Somehow I just loved movies that tickled my heart and brain to think deeply of what the movie is relating to us. The storyline dragged for 3 hours and after the movie, I stood up feeling abit giddy and headache... :( The moment I got home, I stomped right to my bed.

On Wednesday, met up with BF at AMK to run his errands. After which went back to his place. Luckily I had already kept my luggage in his house on Sunday. Around 4 plus, it was still raining heavily. We went to flag for a cab and BF's dad had helped us to carry our luggages down. My BF volunteered to flag the cab taking one of the umbrellas with him and asked us to wait downstairs. The cab came soon after. BF was smiling at me, standing at the cab waiting for us while BF's dad and I had to share one umbrella together plus carried our luggages and walked down the stairs.. BF was trying to be helpful but... funny and cute leh him.. :D

We reached BKK airport close to 9pm. Took a taxi for 400 baht + a toll charge of 75 baht for using their expressway. Very expensive I felt. The hotel was situated behind the carpark of Baiyoke Sky hotel. There wasn't any view at all because our hotel is only 9 storey high! We faced the carpark. haha. The room was okay but definitely not the toilet. The toilet smelled like someone had pooed inside and never flushed! Hee.. still acceptable for a budget hotel lah.. I closed one eye since it was cheap. Hopefully, they will do something to the toilets. I liked their lobby. small and boutique style. I liked the location where cheap things were found there. The last time we went, we also stayed nearby so BF and I were very familar with the area. There were many young Japanese and koreans staying in the hotel. Saw one or two hunks :D~

The 2nd day at BKK, we went to platinum Fashion mall and pratunam market for wholesale prices. Bought quite a few tops, accessories and snacks from there. But BF didn't fancy the clothes there. haha. Their styles were different. CMI. We walked back to our hotel, put our stuffs and then took the hotel free shuttle service to Siam discovery. We went to Central World, it was my first time there. We splurged on an expensive lunch at Fuji Japanese Restaurant. (still consider cheap compare to Singapore) I bought Naraya bags too. The boutique was crowded and I had to search high and low for those particular designs I liked until I blur blur also dun exactly know what I wanted. hee. In the end I bought 3 bags. One for myself, one for Jen, one for my coll as I promised to get for them ;) For dinner we just settled for a very simple meal.

The 3rd day at BKK, we went to MBK. Ever since my past incident at MBK, I have never really liked shopping there. It's mainly opened for tourists' spending. The prices are steep. I could have get those from Platinum and Pratunum. We then went to an open concept massage parlour. BF went for a neck, shoulder and foot massage while I chose medicure. I don't really like massage so much, scare of pain and itchy. Worried I will burst out screaming or laughing and everyone will stare at me, especially in an open area. But I felt the medicure price is pricey. The lady didn't do anything much except washing and scrubbing my hands, followed by painting all my nails with designs. At least I thought she will cut my cuticles and massage my hands. Hehe. Maybe I asked too much. BF said I have nice nails so she didn't bother. Well, I (proudly) do agreed with him on this fact. *giggles*

We decided to splurge another expensive meal at Baiyoke Sky hotel at 75th floor for dinner. BF told me since there isn't any chance of going high up to Singapore's tallest building for dinner, we can still afford a meal at BKK's tallest building for dinner. hehe. Anyway I don't really find the need to spend so much to go to Swissotel for dinner for just 1 nite. With that kind of prices, I rather he brings me to 2 nice places for dinner, right?

On the last day at BKK, we woke up super early at 7am! We took a 30 mins walk to the nearest BTS train to Chatuchak market. Kaoz. From the map, we thought it was probably a 15 mins walk but we were very wrong! But it was a good walking exercise after all the good food we had for the past 2 days! When we reached there, it was beaming hot. OMG. We walked for around 8 rows of shops before we called it a day. That was like 3 hrs only? Normally, people can spend more than half a day there, but not us! Chatuchak market has 10,000 stores selling alot of stuffs but we were so tired to continue walking, braving the heat. I think we only conquered 1/10 of the stores. We stopped for coke and some quick bites at a nearby cafe. Then headed back to hotel for a nice bath. Luckily the hotel staff were nice enough to extend our check-out till 2pm. I dun want to go back to Singapore with my sticky hair and stinky outfit.. I dun want BF to tell me I smelled~muahahaha... When we touched down to Singapore, it was 30 mins past midnight. Rain and Des were waiting for us patiently at the arrival hall.

One sad thing about my trip, I didn't change enough currency so I had to plan carefully what to spend on :( Lesson learnt. The next time I go, I MUST remind myself to change more $. BF and I planned to go again 2 yrs later and it MUST BE in January because the weather is more cooling. We intend to get some deco items for our new house as we spotted some nice lights and kitchenware at Chatuchak market. Interesting. keke.

it's a rainy day~

Our itinerary for today was to have an outdoor shot at Sungei Buroh but it rained! So sad :(
No choice lohz, I just met up with BF at Orchard to change $$ at Lucky Plaza. After comparing the rates with several money changers, we managed to find one at a corner that offered good rates. hehe~ I think it's dat one Rain has recommended before.
Hmm, the rate isn't that good as before compared to a few years back.
Exchange rate: S$1.00 = 22.9 baht

After our mission is completed, we started our engine for shopping. I know I shouldn't be buying things since I will be going Bangkok to wipe out their stores but I cant control when I saw many sales around~ lol. In the end, I got myself a dress, top and pants which are nice~ I will be wearing my new top and pants to Bangkok! Yipee~ It's my style to buy at least a new set of clothings whenever im going for a holiday.. I just want to look good in photos :D~ Now, Im all set for next wed~ Heard the news from BF about the Bangkok Rally happening next week! Oh well, we will just be careful. I am sure GOD will look after us too. I have trust in Him.

I am going church tomorrow to pray for our safety.
Going to help BF to wash his Xiao Hei tomorrow. I like it when it's sparkling clean 'cuz it's our efforts!

In case you are wondering who is Xiao Hei, it's actually.....

Wendi will be flying from 25th - 28th Feb.....

Updates...
Last Thurs, treated my godbro to dinner at Hong Kong cafe @ ECP. No special reason for the treat but just felt that he deserved one from me! After dinner, we took a stroll along the ECP and then drove past Geylang for some "eye-catching" stuffs before we called it a day... ~ So exciting lehz to go for a spin at a red light district area.

Yesterday had dinner with my ex-coll, ET @ Esplanade mall. Thanks to him, I just found out at a corner on 2nd level, there is a nice Japanese restaurant Ichiban Boshi that serves spendid executive set dinners at affordable prices and most importantly, they tasted nice! Serving size was generous. After dinner, we sat at Esplanade walk and shared about our stories, our lives.. It's been a long time since I have been caught doing so :)~ I guess when we are busy with our lives, we tend to forget the basic fundamental of lives.

Heee.. my trademark pose~

ET's executive set dinner

My choice of dinner... There's a fire underneath to keep the beef warm.

My eye problem arises again! It's the third time that I have visited the same doctor and still, the red thing didn't fully recovered.... :( The doc told me my eye did not recover was due to the haze. I have stopped wearing contact lens. I have put on my glasses everyday. Now I can only wait and pray it will be over soon..

My day started today feeling so tired and lazy with a mild headache that has not recovered from last night.. *yawn* I'll just stay at home today and pack my messy room + a little nap~

Updates from yesterday, 14th Feb...

Had a good Valentine dinner with my bro.. He is lonely. I am lonely. We are both lonely. haha. It just so happened that my bf was on standby, thus the reason why we dated each other. It's been a long time since I went out with my bro and treating him with delicacies.
We simply loved Sushi Tei!! After dinner we watched the movie "slumdog millionaire". Tickets for afternoon was sold out thus we could only manage to get tix for late evening. The storyline was quite interesting and unique with a mixture of comedy and emotional scenes. FYI, the movie was shot in India. There was a scene I could remembered vividly, the bad guy dug out the eyes of an orphan with a spoon so he could go begging in the streets. It made my hairs stand... :S

After the dinner, my sweet bf then picked us up from Vivo and drove us home.~

Early Valentine Special ~ 2009 at 1929

Its our 4th time celebrating Valentine's Day.. and this time at..
Ember

Hotel 1929

the door is so nice that I want a pic with it!

viewing the chinatown streets while eating

BF and I planned to start our Valentine celebration early as he is on standby on actual day.
He brought me to Ember restaurant for dinner, just located at hotel 1929. As the road was closed for the Thaipusam festival, bf had to park his car further away from the restaurant. And damn it, I wore the wrong heels and the pain was biting on my skin. I had a hard time trying to walk normally. haha. But despite this, the pain was still worth it!

I was impressed by the outlook of the restaurant, its an open concept with glass panels looking out to chinatown streets, layout is simple and nice. A fine bistro restaurant that was located at chinatown. Luckily there wasn't any disturbance of noise or it would have been a turn-off for the night. I hate it when people laughed and giggled so loudly from other tables. It would spoil anyone's Valentine night. For mains, bf ordered the pork belly while I had the truffle seabass by recommendation from the waitress. The seabass was one of the fish I have tried and the best I will remember! Tender and soft.. We also had the soft shell crab and I need to add this: they served really nice sauces!

For dessert, we had the warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream. The molten chocolate was oozing out and melting into our mouths. The food quality did not fail to my expectations. We had a great evening there.

As the night was still young, we decided to pop by Seventh Heaven for some nice ice-cream. It's an "only for adults" ice-cream parlour! They served alcoholic ice-creams and proud to say, I am a great fan of alcoholic stuffs although I am a lousy drinker. =)
The cafe is tucked inside a ulu place at the Marketing Institue of Singapore. It will not be easy to find your way there without any street directory or GPS.

As it was our first time trying out, we opted for the three ice-cream sampling at S$13.80. They came in three different flavours of our choices. Nice place for chats but the place could revamp into something more cozier. I will definitely be there again, this time to try other alcoholic flavours! hehe..
